Institution of Civil Engineer (ICE)'s NIT Rourkela chapter aspires to foster and promote the art and science of Civil Engineering.
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is an independent professional association for civil engineers and a charitable body which exists to deliver benefits to the public. Based in London, ICE has nearly 91,000 members, of whom three quarters are located in the United Kingdom, while the rest are located in more than 150 countries around the world. ICE supports the civil engineering profession by offering professional qualification, promoting education, maintaining professional ethics, and liaising with industry, academia and government. Under its commercial arm, it delivers training, recruitment, publishing and contract services. As a professional body, ICE is committed to support and promote professional learning (both to students and existing practitioners), managing professional ethics and safeguarding the status of engineers, and representing the interests of the profession in dealings with government, etc. It sets standards for membership of the body; works with industry and academia to progress engineering standards and advises on education and training curricula.
Mission: ICE's student chapter will be a platform for all Civil Engineering students to develop their abilities and share their knowledge, both at an institute level and an international level. It aims at encouraging innovation in Civil Engineering and raising the profile of the profession.
