To prepare we have split the team into several groups such as social media updates, t-shirt designers, and presentation preparers. During last weeks meetings in order to further our progress we split up into three main groups. One worked on the assembly of the ramp for the course, using skills such as riveting. Another group worked on the programming aspects of the robot and the development of coding and software. The last group worked on the "master plan" pitching out the ideas of how we're going to approach the season and its challenges

During the time of the competition, when testing our robot we had to achieve a difficult task. The design of our robot at this point in the season consisted of an arm that could help pull it up the mountain obstacle course we created. We had to make sure we were able to successfully drive the robot up the mountain using the arm we created to help to pull it up. To do this, we had to check the robot for structural stability and that we were able to control it to do so. This would help to ensure our success as we competed.

Back in January we participated in another competition. To prepare we once again had to go through all the steps to ensure that were ready. We made sure our code was well executed and that all the moving parts on our robot were tested to make sure they functioned properly. Also, we had to adjust the wiring to hopefully eliminate the issues we faced previously.

We participated in the competition and learned valuable experience for upcoming events. From the event we learned how to better improve our robot. For example, we experienced issues with the electrical connections. But from this, we were able to take this knowledge, brainstorm and implement new strategies to fix this problem for later competitions to better advance ourselves.

After finally completing our robot, we still had much to prepare before participating in the upcoming competition. Tasks such as testing out our robot on our obstacle course to ensure it maneuvered successfully, improving code and finishing the last details became very important. This helped us to be better prepared for the competition, make sure our robot was stably built, and allow us to perform to our best ability.

Here is one of the first drafts of our robot. We worked hard on constructing its design to fit the nature of our event. We had to make sure to add aspects that would help us succeed in the Kickoff event, but at the same time fit the parameters. We added a bucket claw to the robot to pick up game pieces and put them into a bucket to score points. With this design we could only score a limited number of points so the design of the robot slowly changed over time to better accommodate our obstacles.
